Bourgogne is the eastern central area of France, known as the Burgundy region. Dijon is the largest city and enjoys some wonderful Gothic and Renaissance architecture. Visit the Palais des Ducs et des États de Bourgogne in the central square of Dijon and Musée des Beaux-Arts.
We must not forget that the Burgundy region is home to some of the finest wines in the World. There are so many vineyards to choose from but the best wines are mainly produced on a narrow strip of land running south from Dijon, on the western fringe of the Saône plain, in the Côtes de Nuits and the Côtes de Beaune vineyard areas. These include names such as Volnay , Gevrey-Chambertin, Pommard, Vosne-Romanée and Clos Vougeot.
A wine tasting visit is surely to be on your agenda and we are sure you will be tempted to buy a bottle or two to take home with you.
The Burgundy region has plenty of things to do. Exploring the region by cycling, by boat on the Nivernais canal, on horseback or by walking it is an area of forests, lakes and vineyards. Take a holiday home with your dog and you will not be short of those enjoyable long walks.
Our holiday cottages and villas all have super views and private gardens and some have a pool.
